HTML is the file format of the Internet. The
page you are reading was written with an HTML editor. Many email
clients have the ability to send and display HTML files as regular
email instead of as a separate file attachment. This allows the
recipient to receive the message already displayed and formatted.
With your summary open, click "File" and then "Create HTML file".
You will receive a message letting you know it's done. The system
creates a file called summary.htm in your system's directory
(c:\dawin\summary.htm). Various email clients operate differently.
If you use Microsoft's Outlook, you
create a new message, click "Insert" and then "Text from file". In
the "Insert Text File" window, change the "Files of Type" drop down
to "HTML files" and maneuver the window to your c:\dawin (or
system's) directory. Double click on the summary.htm file to insert
the summary into your email. Additional text and editing can be
added with Outlook.
HTML files can be viewed with your web
browser so if your email client will not support importing the text,
you should attach the summary.htm file to your message and your
director can view it through her Internet browser. Even if you just
attach the file, if your recipient has an email client which
supports html, the message will be displayed properly formatted in
their email client.
Here is an example of an exported file as
displayed as an email. |
