Product Window

Products can be viewed, added, changed or deleted from the products database through the products window. This is the area in which your product information is stored. Settings in the product window determine if the product is displayed on the order form and in which position. To access the product window:

Click on the Products Icon or Select “Products” from the “View” menu.

Product Window Overview

The product window displays products one at a time. All fields in the product window relate to the current product. Products are located with a search or you can move forward/back with the arrows on the bottom of the window.

Finding Products

Clicking on the Find button will open the Product Search window. This is the same window that can be used to locate products in the invoice and also has the same search properties.

You can also use the standard find icon in the main toolbar to locate by description, part # or category.

WiWth the Product window open, click on the Find icon or Select “Find” from the “Edit” menu.

You will then be able to search by:

Product ID - The products part #.

Description - This is the description of the item as it is displayed in the description field. It is not necessary to enter the entire description to search for a description.

Category - You can either begin typing in this field or click on the down arrow to get a list of the appropriate categories.

Selecting Cancel will return you to the Product Window, selecting Go will display the product you requested in your search if the item can be located. You can use the arrows at the bottom of the screen or your page up/page down keys to move through the products on the screen.

Editing Products

If you need to edit or change any product information you can do so by accessing the products window. In Products, you would first “find” the product that you need to change. When you have located the specific product, select the Change button from the bottom of the screen. You can use the tab key, or the mouse to move from field to field. After all the changes that are necessary have been made, you can select the Done button from the bottom of the screen to save the changes to your database.

Adding Products

If you need to add a product, you would first access the products window. Once you are in Products you can select Add at the bottom of the screen You can use the mouse or tab to move from field to field to enter the information. Once the information has been entered you can select Done from the bottom of the screen to add the new product to your database. If it is a new item that is on the current order form, be sure that the order form box is checked in Advanced Features.

Deleting Products

Sometimes you will find it necessary to delete a product from the database. First access the products window. Once in Products, locate the product you need to delete. When the product is in the products window, click on Delete at the bottom of the screen. You will be prompted to confirm that you wish to delete this specific product. Selecting No on this screen will return you back to the products window. Selecting Yes will delete the product from your database. Deleting a product will not effect your past purchase history. Once a product is deleted, the only way to get it back is to add it.

Exiting the Product Window

To exit out of the products window, select close at the bottom right corner of the screen. It is important to close the product window after making any changes so the rest of the system will be updated. This will return you to the window you were in before you entered into products.
