Product Gift

Product gifts apply to Section 1 items only, and will track the retail value of the product given away. To tag an item as a Product Gift, highlight the product, by clicking on the line number to the left of the description of the appropriate product. Click on the Prod Gift button. You will be prompted to confirm the action, selecting Yes will tag the item with a G in the far right column, and selecting No will return you to the invoice.

When an item has been tagged as a Product Gift a “G” will appear on the far right side of that particular item in the customers Past Purchase window to let you know that she received that item as a gift.

If you do not want to charge tax for this item, make sure that your Tax Subtotal button is displayed.

Items marked as Product Gifts will be totaled and appear in the Product Given Away at Sugg. Retail (Section 1) column of the weekly summary. The Sales Detail report and Sales Summary report will also display Product Given Away.

Demo Use

If you use Section 1 products for demo purposes you probably want to create a contact record called Demo’s or Class Demo’s. When you take an item from inventory for this purpose you can tag the item as a demo by selecting the appropriate line number in the column to the left of description, and clicking on the Demo Use button. You will be asked to confirm. Selecting Yes will tag the item with a D in the far right column, selecting No will return you to the invoice.

Demo items DO NOT appear on printed invoices. You can enter demo items into a customer’s invoice. When an item has been tagged as Demo Use a “D” will appear on the far right side of that particular item in the customer’s Past Purchase window to let you know that she received that item as a demo.

Some consultants use this field to tag lipstick demos, or eye color demos. Others choose just to enter into the Notes field that they gave these. You will need to decide which option works best for you.

Items marked for Demo Use are tracked in the Sales Detail report and the Sales Summary report.

Hostess Gifts

Hostess Gifts/Gifts With Purchase apply to Section 2 items only, and will track the list price of the product given as a gift. To tag an item as a Hostess Gift, highlight the product, by clicking on the line number to the left of the description of the appropriate product. Click on the Host Gift button. You will be prompted to confirm the action, selecting Yes will tag the item with a H in the far right column, and selecting No will return you to the invoice.

When an item has been tagged as a Hostess Gift a “H” will appear on the far right side of that particular item in the customers Past Purchase window to let you know that she received that item as a gift.

If you do not want to charge tax for this item, make sure that your Tax Subtotal button is active.

Items marked as Hostess Gifts will be totaled and appear in the Hostess Gifts/GWP at cost (Section 2) column of the weekly summary. The Sales Detail report and Sales Summary report will also track Hostess Gifts.

Personal Use

To track Personal Use, create a contact record for yourself or one for Personal Use. The steps involved in tagging items as Personal use are very similar to the other options already discussed.

To tag an item as Personal Use, highlight the product, by clicking on the line number to the left of the description of the appropriate product. Click on the Personal Use button. You will be prompted to confirm the action, selecting Yes will tag the item with a P in the far right column, and selecting No will return you to the invoice.

When an item has been tagged as Personal Use a “P” will appear on the far right side of that particular item in the customers Past Purchase window to let you know that this particular item was a personal use item.

If you do not want to charge tax for this item, make sure that your Tax Subtotal button is active.

Items marked as Personal Use will be totaled and appear in the Product Given Away at Sugg. Retail (Sec 1) column of the weekly summary. The Sales Detail report and Sales Summary report also track Personal Use.
