Using Mail Categories

Mail is a feature where you can create your own contact groups that can be used for reports and mailings. You can name the groups whatever you like using your own descriptions. Contacts can be on more than one Direct Mail list at a time. Direct Mail lists can be used to create lists in Lister or reports and mailing labels.

To add a contact to a direct mail list check the check box next to the list. Contact’s can be on multiple Direct Mail lists at the same time. After checking the appropriate boxes for your current contact, click OK to save the changes. Direct Mail lists are displayed on the contact’s window in the form of numbers listed in the contact’s Direct Mail bar. To change the descriptions of your Direct Mail lists, click on the “Descrip” button.

Edit each list, entering your own descriptions. You can utilize as many direct mail lists as you wish. When you have finished entering your descriptions, click on the “Check” button to return to the Direct Mail window.

Manipulating Mail Categories with the Contact Lister The Contact Lister has the ability to add or remove entire groups of contacts from mail categories. See Contact Lister for more information.

Resetting Direct Mail Categories You can reset Direct Mail categories by selecting “Reset Direct Mail” from the “Edit” menu. Resetting a category clears all contacts off of the category and resets the description to the original default. You can reset multiple categories at the same time.
