Product/Item Window
Items that are sold and/or tracked in inventory are managed in the products window.
To open, click on the 'Products' icon in the main toolbar. Products are displayed
by Ledger using the Dropdown menu in the upper left side of the screen. If you have
more than 1 business with products, you select the business with this dropdown.
Selecting/Locating Products
Product can be display in lookup groups, sections, categories or individually using the filtering tab located in the upper left side of the products screen. Use the search field to filter the view to a specific product , searching by part number or any part of the description or color. Click on any product lookup to filter the view to include only products with the selected lookup. Click on the 'Section/Category' tab to filter the display to include only product in a section or category. Various Product/Inventory reports, will list product based on the current selection. (Select the Body Care category and then clicking print will print a report, listing only Body Care items) Click on the 'All Items' checkbox to return the current view back to the default of listing all items in the selected Ledger.
Product Sections
Products are first broken down into Sections. Sections determine how the item is processed in transactions. Sections can be set for 'Inventory Items' , 'Non Inventory Item' or 'Services'. See: Product Sections
Product Cateogries
Product can also be further categorized within a Category. Categories are nothing more than a description for the group of product. To Add or edit product categories, select the 'Sections/Category' tab in the search area to the left. Then RIGHT click in the Categories area and select 'Add or Edit'. Edit the categories description and click Save when finished.
Product Lookups
There are up to 6 optional lookup fields for each product. These can be used for organizing and quickly locating product for transactions, even with very high numbers of products. Use as many lookups as needed to organize your products grouping product in more and more refined groups. (shirts/manufacturer/style/sizes/colors) Specific product is then located by logical groupings to ensure correct product selection.
